"Pianist and composer Frank Windemuller is one of a kind. His music is intelligent and impassioned, and rich in remarkable inventions. His compositions are often wonderful musical architectures, in some cases little gems, demonstrating a great feeling for poetry.

As a person,Windemuller stays in the background, it's always about the music only, yet the pianists leadership is tangible at all times."

Frank Windemuller (1975) studied jazz piano and composition at the Artez conservatory in Arnhem and the Fontys conservatory in Tilburg (both in the Netherlands), where he got his Master of Music degree. He had lessons from Jeroen van Vliet, Rembrandt Frerichs, Harmen Fraanje, Bert van den Brink and Rob van den Broeck, among others. He attended masterclasses with a variety of internationally known teachers, such as Dave Liebman, Barry Harris, Jim Black, Tamir Hendelman, Richard Bona, Scott Henderson.

Throughout the years he has played with a lot of different artists, in different formations. Benjamin Herman, Simon Vinkenoog, Mete Erker, Hans van Oosterhout, Stefan Lievestro, Timothy Reynish, a.o. He has played jazz concerts, theatre/opera productions, stand-up poetry, small and large venues, festivals and theaters. In addition to that he's done studio and arranging work, for CD's, film, and commercials.

Although Frank is still active in different projects, in recent years his focus gradually shifted towards writing and playing his own work. In may 2014, this resulted in 'METEORITE', the first CD of the Frank WIndemuller Group, an album full of original compositions. At the time of this writing, this group is his most important project.
